A character sheet! What do I do with it? Part I: Layout

Greeting fellow gamers!

You might've read the last post about the Character Builder and even installed it and tinkered with it until a character emerged from its bowels. The character sheet appearing after you saved your creation, displaying all necessary number crunch for the character to enter play, is a view to behold but its layout is not something nailed to the ground.

After years of experience, me and my players have determined that the standard character sheet layout has many redundant information (example soon). Thus to ease the find of relevant information for player and Dungeon Master we created a new layout. This layout can be found here (use "Save Link As").

It is simple to make use of this file (preferred layout.csl):
Step #1: first download the file and put it into the Character Builder's install folder.
Step #2: run CBLoader.exe and wait for the Character Builder to load.
Step #3: do a quick character and press "Character Sheet" button to bring the character sheet into view.
Step #4: in the upper bar of the Character sheet, look for "Layout" button; then go to "Load Custom Layout"
Step #5: look for the "preferred layout.csl" which you saved in step #1 and enjoy the new layout.

Alternatively if our layout doesn't appeal to you, pressing the "Lock" icon below the main bar, will unlock all the character sheet elements for you to reposition and redeploy and even delete.

In the second part, I will explain the character sheet's major elements.

Enjoy!
